UPDATE: Changes in IBPS CWE 2012 for Clerk-II Exam

1. The IBPS CWE is now an online exam instead of offline

IBPS Clerk Exam 2012 will be conducted online, i.e. there will be no use of pen and paper in the exam and applicants will have to appear for the exam on computer systems in centres allotted by IBPS.

2. CWE is now valid for 20 Public Sector Banks

IDBI joins the list of 19 public sector banks which will consider IBPS CWE for recruitment. Now there will be 20 banks which will offer jobs to candidates who successfully clear the IBPS Clerk Exam.

3. Change in eligibility criteria

A graduate degree has been made mandatory in order to apply for clerical jobs in public sector banks. This is unlike previous IBPS clerk exams where applications were invited from XII-pass candidates.

4. Common interviews

Applicants who clear the IBPS written exam will have to appear for the common interview. It is on the basis of their performance that they will be chosen for clerical jobs in any one public sector bank. This will be through a computerised mechanism, unlike CWE-I where shortlisted candidates got the call for interview from individual banks.

5. Changes in exam structure

Now there will be 40 questions in each section, carrying 1 mark each. There will be a total of 200 questions carrying 200 marks.
